    Red face

Tell me what pisses you off about your family most?

See, we are all thankful the day before Thanksgiving (see mah previous, 'what are you thankful for' post). And now that you've had time to spend with those you love, or love to hate, and are completely annoyed with them for eating too much turkey, spilling the cranberry relish all over Grandma and puking in and around your toilet, what are your feelings?

Me, Since I had no turkey and no meal:

-The fact that my father is a dipshit and doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving.

-That my mother is 3000 miles away basking in 70-degree weather.

    -That my ex had AAA.

    Anyone else care to share?

*That my mom stresses over the food....

*That my In-Laws showed up an hour late... causing my mom to stress more that the food would be cold.

*That is sucks to be dieting during the holidays.

That my mother and aunt insist on speaking Italian to each other at the dinner table, as my Irish In-laws sit there clueless.

It was a first for me. Usually we go to each house, but this year since I was hosting I had them both there. And it actually worked out, because the under-50's sat at the kid table, which meant me and hubby, 2 borther in laws and spouses, and my kids. So we avoided a lot of the typical family dysfunction simply by being in another room.

I did the same... my parents and the in-laws....

Works out great cuz I "too busy" cooking to deal with any crap from either side. Leaves them to just irriate each other.

i did that in the past and it worked well. for me at least. just tell them to bring certain things so you don't have to do all the cooking. it was MUICH bettah then having to go from place to place.

if you invite them, they will come...

I would have to say....the men in my family (and probably everyones family) sit on their asses while the women prepare the meal. Then, after we have all ate....they go in the living room to sit on their asses some more while we clean up. Then, we have to serve dessert and clean that up for them too. I work just as many hours as every man sitting on their ass does....WHY CAN'T THEY HELP??????
